Aberdour Celebrates Outstanding Senior School Offers and Scholarship Success
Aberdour School is proud to celebrate an exceptional year of senior school destinations, with this year’s Year 6 cohort achieving remarkable success across a wide range of leading independent and grammar schools.
Our impressive Year 6 cohort received 71 independent school offers and an exceptional 57 scholarships awarded across academic, sport, music, drama, art and specialist disciplines. In addition, pupils secured places at Sutton grammar schools, with offers from 15 academically selective senior schools overall.
This breadth of achievement is a defining feature of an Aberdour education. Pupils have received offers from a diverse and highly regarded group of senior schools including Brighton College, Caterham School, City of London Freemen’s School, Dunottar School, Epsom College, Reigate Grammar School, RGS Surrey Hills, St John’s Leatherhead, St Teresa’s Effingham, Reed’s School and others – giving families genuine choice in selecting the right next step.
A particularly striking aspect of this year’s results is the range and quality of scholarships awarded. Aberdour pupils secured scholarships across an exceptional variety of disciplines, including academic, art, drama, performing arts, sport as well as innovation and entrepreneurship. Many pupils were awarded multiple scholarships, highlighting both depth and versatility of talent across the cohort.
At the heart of this success is Aberdour’s deeply personalised approach. Each child is supported through a tailored pathway, whether pursuing competitive entrance examinations, scholarship routes, or selective grammar school entry, ensuring that every pupil is prepared not only to succeed, but to thrive.
Our focus is not on a single definition of success, but on finding the right environment for each child. These outcomes reflect a school culture that knows its pupils as individuals, nurtures their strengths, and builds the confidence and character needed for the next stage of their journey.
Once again this is testament to our approach of – Finding the brilliance in every child.
This year’s results continue a strong and consistent pattern, with Aberdour pupils progressing to an incredibly wide range of highly selective senior schools, supported by a preparation programme that is both ambitious and genuinely individual.
