What was your path to Teaching?
Having studied Psychology at university, my initial goal was to become an Educational Psychologist, which led me to train as a teacher. I began my career at an all-through primary school, and I instantly fell in love with teaching. Since then, I have dedicated myself to the profession, progressing to the role of Deputy Headteacher. Before joining Aberdour, I gained valuable experience at two other primary schools in Surrey and Hampshire. As a child, I really enjoyed school and my favourite subjects were Maths, English, and History. I was particularly fascinated by topics like World War II and the reign of Henry VII, which I went on to study at A’ Level. One historical figure who has always inspired me is Emmeline Pankhurst, especially for her courageous fight for women’s equality. I believe any dream is possible with hard work, positivity and the right team around you which is why I love working at Aberdour.
What is your favourite thing about Aberdour?
Being with the children and being able to have the resources to make a difference to their education. Children are happy at Aberdour and this is what makes it such a wonderful place to work.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy theme parks. Most weekends you will find me at a local theme park with my children. I enjoy spending time with my family (and our dog!) and having days out!
