SCIENCE IS FUN

A report by Jordan Halley-Murray & James Selbie
On 28th February, Professor Brainstorm came to Aberdour to talk to Years 5 and 6 and to do various experiments with rockets and pressure. For the first one he used a rocket powered by air and then for the second we used a rocket powered by pressure – using water and a tablet – which went much even further! We also looked at forces using a ping pong ball and a hair dryer.
At the end he showed us his spud gun. It consisted of a long pipe with two pieces of potato in either end. By pushing in one piece it built up so much pressure that it fired off the other piece just like a gun!
