School Ethos
Aberdour is a thriving community where boys and girls, aged 2 to 13, benefit from learning, playing and growing together in a caring and safe environment. Small classes ensure that each pupil is supported. At Aberdour, every child has the opportunity to shine.
Children are encouraged to achieve their potential, whilst never being afraid of ‘having a go’ or of asking for help whenever they may need it – in or out of the classroom. Being an Aberdorian means being part of our School family – a family that will always be there to support your child. The number of ex-pupils who return to visit tells us that this is still felt by them long after they have left the School.
There is a saying, ‘Do not confine your children to your own learning, for they were born in another time’. We never forget that we are preparing children for a modern world. Growing up today can be confusing and complex; at our School we provide children with the relevant learning and support required to face the challenges ahead.
It is our belief that every child who walks through our doors has brilliance within them. It is our aim to find and nurture that brilliance and celebrate, as a whole community, the success of every child. Please read our Personalised Achievement Learning (P.A.L) webpage to see how we will achieve this for our children.
Childhood is a once in a lifetime experience - at Aberdour we aim to make it a special time for your child.
