Read All About It!!
It was a busy week in the Pre-Prep. Every day a special activity was organised which involved all of the children. There was story-telling, poetry and dressing up, Assemblies, a staff play and, of course, the visit from the author Chris Powling, who has written over ninety books. The Nursery children even managed a visit to the library. The Travelling Book Fair was open each afternoon. A percentage of the takings will enable us to buy some new books for our library.
Pulling Strings in Pre-Prep…
The Puppetteers’ visit just before half term prompted some delightful “puppet-making” throughout the Pre-Prep Department. A variety of puppets were produced by the children, including finger, hand, pop-up and stick puppets. Our Friday, Assembly provided an ideal opportunity for all the children to exhibit their handiwork.
Welcome to our new Receptionist
We are sorry to say goodbye to our School Receptionist, Mrs. Melanie Troughton, who leaves us today to start a new life with her family in Somerset. We would like to thank her for her all her hard work and support over the last two years and wish her every success in the future. We would also like to extend a warm welcome to Mrs. Susie Blair who has already taken over the role.
Opening Times - 0815-0930 & 1500-1645
We would love to have some new bakers on the Coffee Shop rota. Even if you can only manage to bake once a month it would really help to maintain a supply of homemade (nut-free) treats. If you can help with this please come to the Coffee Shop to let us know. We can supply recipes and even cake tins should you need!
Thank you – “Sumathon” raised £2,130.50 in aid of the Haiti Earthquake Appeal
Before Half Term, the children took part in the whole school “Sumathon”, played maths games and carried out a variety of activities including measuring the classrooms, the playground and themselves and raised money for this worthwhile cause. Well done!
Ballet – The Laird Academy of Dance and Drama
